Carver youth program helps youth in grades K-12 achieve academic success and develop positive values, high self-esteem, healthy habits and a sense of purpose. Carver youth programming also helps youth develop the knowledge and skills to live in a diverse community. On a daily basis, program activities embrace themes that celebrate each child and recognize their accomplishments.

In addition to traditional after school program activities, Carver offers:
Academic Enrichment (Grades K-8)
Students receive tutoring in reading, math and/or science 2-4 hours per week using the highly effective Experience Corps® model.
ReCharge (Grades 3-6)
Through fun and team based strategies, participants improve their physical activity habits and nutrition while also learning leadership, and problem solving skills.
Scholarshop® (Grades 4-12)
A comprehensive, activity based curriculum, as well as a multimedia resource center. Scholarshop® is designed to motivate and prepare students to achieve their potential as postsecondary students and productive members of society.
Carver provides pick-up from some middle/high schools to the C.K. Newsome Community Center location. Call for complete listing of pick-up sites.
Transportation services may be limited or discontinued based on total number of children registered from a particular school.
If school is dismissed early due to inclement weather, Carver will not provide transportation.Top of Page
Carver is open to all children who may benefit from our type of program regardless of race, creed, sex, religion, nationality or ability to pay. We guarantee placement in our program only if we have the following on your child:
$10 paid upon enrollment
A 2-week written cancellation notice is required to withdraw your child from the after school program. Registration fee is non refundable.
